The point of my response is that PREPA is acting like there will be a land rush if their 4 files full of municipalities, that each contain a number of interconnection sites per municipality, is ever released. And yes, we all know to take PREPA's word with a grain of salt. I'm just stating their side of the story. They obviously believe that there's enough real estate to fill 6 tranches of RFP's. Delusional? Maybe. Can the grid handle it? Definitely not in the state it's in. Will there only be 593mw of renewable energy added in the future? No I don't think that's logical. 8 years ago sure. But as the grid is improved it will be able to handle more projects. Truth will be told in the response they get to the first RFP tranche. If there truly is no land available then they'll fall well short of filling the full 1000mw allotment. Wouldn't that be something if they only had 443mw apply....
