RE:RE:RE:A National Fertiliser Plan?Looking at the biographies of our current Board members, it would appear that Verde is well positioned to interface with the intergovernmental working group that this article addresses. I hope the Verde management team has already articulated what it believes the government can do in the way of legislative changes that would support the rollout of its existing (and soon to be refreshed and updated) Feasibility Study that has the long term goal of producing and selling 25 million tonnes of glauconite sourced fertilizers (soil remineralizers).
If nothing else, Verde can push the issue of a "no salt" solution, rather than finding a domestic substitute for the huge quantities of KCl currently imported and used in agricultural production. The footnote about granting permits to mine on indigenous lands addresses the KCl mine proposed by Brazil Potash (Aberdeen International) in the north. Does Brazil really want to go this route?
Hopefully there will be a concensus to go a "greener" and more sustainable route, that will see the government bring in financial incentives and perhaps loan guarantees that would assist companies like Verde to accelerate their existing alternative strategies.
