Saudi Arabia / Houthi RebelsYou know, I was doing a lot of reading this week in regards to Saudi Arabia and Houthis rebels, which is very interesting. The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen have significantly ramped up their drone, missile attacks on Saudi Arabia since the conflict started in 2015. Their latest attack on Aramco Oil Facility was likely the most significant to date. It's interesting to know that the United States provided Patriot missile defense batteries in 2019 to Saudi Arabia as well as a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, system, to help Riyadh fend off the Houthi Rebels threat. However, the latest attack on Saudi Arabia Aramco Oil Facility demonstrates a substantial lack of training and capability to deter Houthi Rebels UAVs and missiles. The houthi rebels possibly received some significant training and capability from Iran, possibly from IRGC. Strategically speaking, the houthi rebels potentially improved their targets, to attack certain infrastructure in order to disrupt Saudi Arabia's economy. The current situation on the ground is that the Houthi Rebels are doing an offensive in Marib (East of Sana'a) and IMO...Its likely that the Houthi Rebels will attempt to overwhelm the Saudi Arabia air defences with missiles and UAVs in the short term, before or during ground ops, possibly minimizing Saudi Arabia airstrikes. Again, that's my opinion or assessment. In a nut shell, the more conflict is happening in the middle east, the better the oil price is going to be.
