ASA Gold and Precious Metals Limited is a non-diversified, closed-end investment company. The Company's investment objective is long-term capital appreciation primarily through investing in companies engaged in the exploration for, development of projects or mining of precious metals and minerals. The Company invests approximately 80% of its total assets in common shares or securities convertible into common shares of companies engaged, directly or indirectly, in the exploration, mining or processing of gold, silver, platinum, diamonds or other precious minerals; held as bullion or other direct forms of gold, silver, platinum or other precious minerals; in instruments representing interests in gold, silver, platinum or other precious minerals, and/or in securities of investment companies, including exchange traded funds, or other securities. The Company’s investment adviser is Merk Investments LLC.

Buying before the close & positive MOC

VLNS had a few small buyers today and the stock started to trade higher, but it was capped at $1.99 because TD was offloading shares. At times selling blocks of 30000 shares.

Once the positive MOC imbalance for VLNS and few other stocks in the sector was announced 20 minutes before close, VLNS broker $2.00.

The market on close positive imbalance for the stock was 151782 shares. Some other stocks in the sector had a much bigger positive imbalance. This is institutional buying most likely a sector ETF adding to the positions.

Before the imbalance trade at the close, the last trading price was $2.04 the imbalance trade took the share price to close at $2.10. All MOC trades were executed at that price.

Finally, the stock broke above the last dilution price. Monday trading is important to see if the stock has truly absorbed the last financing. which had caused a serious overhand on the stock price and this stock has stalled while other stocks have multiplied.

This stock will catch up once the overhang of the last dilution is fully absorbed into the market. Once the top stocks in the sector spike and inflate, money eventually rotates through the laggards too.
