RE:RE:RE:Why buy a drone company????And then there was this one but they could not make a go of it -- they are now getting into a lighting business: SENS
Sensor Technologies Inc is a solutions provider to various sectors including the oil and gas industry. With nonintrusive technologies including fiber-optic sensors and electric field mapping EFM systems, the company is able to accurately measure changes that could negatively impact its client's operations. Its sensors are a non-invasive tool for monitoring pipeline defects in real time and consist of non-intrusive sensors, monitor, and software. The company discontinued its operations.

Here you find a company that does the leakage control, with sensors integrated in a gas pipeline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbODzpjcdWw

In light of what you are saying here and after having watched the Vimeo link, here is my opinion in regards to this oil business.

I'm no expert but don't they have sensors in place that are frequently installed through the pipelines? Why do you need a drone flying over the pipes to detect if there is a leak? This sounds like a solution to a problem that either doesn't exist or that there is already a solution for it.

I'm all for expanding business operations and finding similar or meaningful other markets but how can the management justify this? Other than some of us guessed it as diluting the shares and making buddies part of the operation. I just can't see the business value in this, maybe not yet.
