RE:RE:RE:RE:You Guys Have More Nerve Than Me!T-Break, I agree on the fact that shareholders have no chance of survival in a crash landing... (And the Law of gravity is mighty cruel).
As for chances of a refusal by the EU-commission, here's my thoughts: Could they take the chance of driving Trz out of business by a refusal in absence of a tangible alternative offer is on the table... I presume that they don't want to provoke nor to hold responsibility for what they wish to avoid: a higher AC monopolistic position - by killing or even weakening its competitor (Trz),
On the other hand, I am pretty sure that for AC, nothing is worth more than a higher monopolistic position - way more than the Transat price tag. If the opportunity comes up, AC will jump on it.
Looking back to the 18.$ transaction, Do you think that it would have finally obtained approval by the EU-commission (without the Covid-pandemic)?
(Knowing what we know today, it appears highly improbable to me).
So covid is the given opportunity for AC to obtain what they couldn't obtain in normal times... (I am sure of nothing and I am often wrong).
