Its about the Apache tribe and sacred land. The area was absolutely off limits to mining for years because of it. Its not about the environment, its about native American relations. None of these factors apply to the Florence project. Remember that Arizona takes pride in its copper mines. Here is an article that explains it some.

This involves and land swap with the Apaches against their will. The Florence property is already fully owned by Taseko. Think about that. I do not know if the Canadian properties are owned outright by Taseko or they just have mining rights. This is not BLM land or National Forest land.
