RE:Driving Long Distances sion78
I think that the latest Mask's Battery Day was underappreciated. Mostly his fault, as he continue to push for 25K-30K Tesla, while having little progress in this direction (cutting Cobalt will win pennies).
What was really presented and impressed me is new engine. New engine will add a lot more power at little incremental cost.
What does it mean - not cheap Tesla, but more EV busses, trucks, SUVs, Minivans. Tesla already passed prototype stage.
Battery improvement is also on the way and solid state ones should be matter of 2-3 years.
In addition to environmental and "cool" factors, EV has creativity advantage.
ICE was here with us for 100+ years and there is little left to improve. EVs just taking off and we will see "battery days" equivalent from each corner.
"Lithium is new petrolium" is flashy term and I do not like them, but in my opinion, it is also has truth in it.
Then, Li triangle is new Persan Gulf. Cheap, high quality, close to transporation.
If Atacamia is Saudi Arabia of Li, than NLC is new Kuwait.
It would be smart to invest in Kuwat oil in 70th...
