I should add that it has been quite a while since I read about the VRFB being competitive with a vanadium price of up to $12. That completely goes out the window with the latest leasing model where the electrolyte is leased out for up to 20 years, and after that time the electrolyte can be recycled, and after replacing the pumps and a few other parts the battery will be as good as new for another 20 or so years.
I doubt if the insurance companies will be as eager to insure the lithium batteries because of the risk of fires. Also, lithium cannot be re-used, and I doubt they would last more than 15 years.
