Well thats the million dollar question isn't it? I'm embarrassed to say that i have been calling for inflation for the longest time now but have been quite wrong. I still think its coming, and eventually will (even a broken clock is right at twice a day). There really seems to be a tug of war as to what is going to happen to this regard, obviously and ultimately affecting bond yeilds. It seems a bit brave of the bond market but you know what they say, bond market tends to be the smart money. It's hard to imagine in time we are not going to see wage inflation to go along with this rise in commodities and other assets, plus the enourmous amounts of money printed is of course quite inflationary on its own. At the end of the day however, I still think central banks et al, will do what it takes to keep things in check, even if they have to start selling the short end of the curve to buy the long end. These guys appear all in on this one and it could prove tough to fight.
