RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RIPETThanks Rocko58. It will be interesting to see where Pertusola is going, especially with thexp added expense of going through the Panama Canal. Shows how big the advantage is shipping from Prince Rupert compared to Texas.
Got this from Pembina site:
The Prince Rupert LPG export terminal is located on Watson Island, British Columbia. The project is best viewed as a small-scale rail terminal, moving LPG from rail cars to 'handysize' ships destined for international markets. There is no on-site processing or refrigeration, and smaller volumes for storage and movement require a smaller footprint relative to other energy facilities proposed on the west coast.
The approximately 25,000 barrels per day project will primarily source propane from our Redwater Complex. The project has an expected in-service date in the first quarter of 2021.
Terminal construction is substantially complete and site commissioning has begun including documentation, installation, testing, and verification of equipment and systems. Once the facility completes commissioning and is in-service, propane will be delivered by rail and transferred from rail cars to on-site storage spheres. The spheres store the propane until it is ready to be loaded onto a ship destined for international markets. Pembina anticipates the arrival of the first ship in early April 2021. Rocko58 wrote: FYI the Pertusola may be on its way to our new competetor PEMBINA on Watson Is. They are rumored to be commissioning their new export facility now, for start of ops in April. Because of the shallow depth of the channel between Watson and Ridley they will be using smaller, shallow draft, tankers such as this "Pertusola".
