RE:RE:Shorts got lucky today...I hold a few individual stocks, but for the most part I am a diversified investor in dividend paying funds which I bought heavily into during March-April of last year and again in Oct. I still hold those and have huge capital gains and now they are slowly starting to issue dividends.
So yes, individual stock picking is one for the birds in today's markets. I learned a big lesson on this one and slowly trying to dig my way out which, especially after yesterday's news, I am more and more confident I will.

Like I said before...there is very little investing in the markets these days...its all trading, bolume and shorting is more and more a greater percentage of it..
So forget about shorts getting burnt...it doesn't happen unless there is reverse manipulation as we saw in Game Stop.
Now we will see what the shorting volume will show on the next report and see if it didn't kick up from the recent lower levels.
