Had an interesting talk with a friend who is a big fan of the technology. He's an electrical engineer who worked with motors and drives. He says the technology is interesting in that it can change the number of poles and thereby generate more torque at low speeds. However, I still don't see the business case. Where are the applications that should be tested right now i.e. garbage trucks and buses? Why are these not on trial? Why is NFI not testing this company's technology? That would be a key customer rather than some electric scooter company that works out of an industrial unit in Cleveland. I also haven't seen the business case that shows the payback for using this type of controller. While I hate to use the analogy, but this company just smells more and more like a Bre-X - whispers and promises but no beef.
