RE:Partial fills at RIPETInteresting story GunnerG: Another alternative was Legend awaited at the wharf and no propane was loaded since Pryxis Alfa was due next day. Legend was then instructed to go to archorage and wait.. As Pryxis Alfa was loaded most of the stored propane on Ripet was gone and Legend needed to wait a few more extra days until supply of propane to fill the tanker would be available.
I say this because it is costly(keeping the propane cool) and somewhat unwise to anchor a ship half loaded with propane. I think it would be safer in the bay without any cargo.
Transfer rate of 3000m3/hr = 18900 bbls/hour. So it would fill a LPG tanker in 32hrs. I usually see tankers at Ripet leave wharf in 2 days. Makes lots of sense.
Ferndale must be 1/2 that . Generally 3-4 days before it goes out to sea.
