RE:RE:RE:Hour leftMy final answer is this deal doesnt happen. And OBE and BNE remain seperate.
Also here is the stock watch mention today..copy and paste....
mid all the kerfuffle, Obsidian opted to let one piece of news lie low: the expiry of its hostile takeover bid for Bonterra Energy Corp. (BNE: $3.95). Obsidian announced last August that it wanted to buy Bonterra at a ratio of two Obsidian shares for each Bonterra share. Bonterra's board showed no interest in this -- little wonder, considering that Obsidian's offer represented a 30-per-cent discount to Bonterra's actual trading price at the time -- so Obsidian took the offer straight to shareholders. They seemed to show no interest either. Despite Obsidian's repeated exhortations to shareholders in nearly every press release, Bonterra gloated in late January that fewer than 1 per cent of its shares had been tendered to the bid.
Interestingly, this month, Bonterra's stock has taken a dive while Obsidian's stock has held stable, such that Obsidian's offer now represents a slight premium. Yet today's announcements from Obsidian were free of their usual pitches of woo. The offer expired at 5 p.m. local time in Calgary. As of this writing, there has been no update, whether another extension or (against all odds) a successful tender result. Continued silence would presumably mean that Obsidian has quietly given up.
