RE:RE:RE:The best setup forhouseholdsEthernet cables fit nicely behind baseboards. You can feed them down through heating vents for between floors, or follow drain pipes, cold air return vents, etc. to the basement. I installed all my cabling in a house already built. The only telltale evidence is a short length of wire poking out from a floor vent or under a baseboard here and there. Thery were incredibly easy to install.

I have a fantastic (not rented) router that can reach the park down the street if I care to wander down there. So I don't see the need for Wifi in the home for all the heavy lifting. Your doorbell and lightbulb doesn't need anythng fancy.
