RE:RE:Teck is in BIG Trouble - Buying BQE is Their Answer Don't know for sure, but the fact that Teck chose to go it on their own some years ago, though they had talks with BQE and others, have spent many millions ( as in many, many ) wiithout any success in net reducing selenium , trying to solve the problem on their own. They now face a further $650 million ( as well as the $60 million in fines) to try to solve their selenium problem , and looks like they plan to do it on their own , again.
As a shareholder of both Teck and BQE, it appears to me that it is strictly a ' Not Invented Here'
situation, and Teck's solution is to continue the same process rather than admitting that someone else might have a better, and less expensive solution.
Don Lindsay has a long , pretty positive record at Teck, but as a shareholder, I think he has really screwed up on this one........so far!
