RE:RE:RE:RE:Bushfield’s Fortune kha.
Largo and Bushveld report their production differently.
Largo report production in tonnes of vanadium pentoxide (V2O5)
and
Bushveld report production in mtv (metric tonnes of vanadium) in the form of Nitrovan.
For the sake of simplicity let's round off the production numbers.
Largo V2O5 12,000 tonnes.
Bushveld 4,000 tonnes reported as MTV.
Obviously a 3-1 ratio but it does not compare apples to apples.
The Bushveld/Largo production comparison has been discussed on the Bushveld bb many times. Here is one of the posts which kind of sums up the comparison. Please note that "alfacomp" is the expert on the Bushveld bb and he started/maintains the "Bushveld
Perspective" website.
From the Bushveld bb.
The following post used a Largo production of 10,000mt of V2O5
Typhoon dec 29
I'm fairly sure that Alfacomp pointed out a while back that BMN production numbers are for vanadium only (ie mtv = metric tonnes of vanadium), whereas Largo quote weight of V2O5. I recall that he also said that V2O5 contains just 56% vanadium by weight (oxygen taking the other 46% weight), which makes Largo's annual vanadium production ca 5,600mtv.
For comparison with companies that report V2O5 production (eg Largo) you need to multiply their mt production figures by 0.56 to get mtV figures because V2O5 is only 56% Vanadium by weight.
