Stop StressingEveryone,
Think long term. I dont know if any of you follow the World Economic Forum and the papers or videos they put out. It is essentially made up the worlds most influential businesses and minds. One thing i have gathered from listening to them is sustainability is a key to the future.
"Everyone knows green tech, so whats your point?!". My point is, that its not only green tech, it is also in how we think and treat the world and natural resources. What i gather is going to happen, is the current spike of inflation we are feeling and will continue to feel wont go away (not dooms day but higher than we have been use to). This is a way of making the world more efficient and doing away with "consumer culture". Making products domestically, with domestic material and labor will cost more. This in turn will bring us back to the 1950s style consumerism. Where you purchased high quality items for more money but they last longer. This in turn forces companies to cut out planned obsolesence and focuse on other ways of making their revenue.
Example: apple will likely pivot to a pay for software update system and cloud storage to offset gpu cpu lag from data stored on hardware.
This isnt going to happen over night but it will likely be facilitated through a spike in commodity prices. Commodities like graphite. Yes, the lack of planned obsolessence means less demand for commodities on an annual basis but graphite has a massive use case that is having a supply issue more than anything else right now. I have already talked your ear off, but the future is going to look very different and commodities are the place to be.
