NorthC makes a very valid point. The dividend is probably next year because, as a small biz owner myself, I would not want to be diluted with 20 milion warrants some douches issued few years back to sweeten a crooked deal. Also, as a biz owner, if my 'top' employees' don't like what I am paying them, they can leave, this is a free, non-communist country. If I built my biz, I hire and fire and pay as whatever the market fetches.
