whisky11: try to make a deal. Let's say sell for $1 hundred shares or buy 200 for $0.02
For sure your order won't get  filed but at least you will know if you can trade. If it says that your order status is" pending" then you will know that everything is OK and you can trade , changing of name could be just cosmetic annoyance.
Long time ago I made mistake and typed decimal on the wrong side.
It was like 10 times more then market  price the program on TD Waterhouse corrected my mistake and I bought stock on the ask.
