Glen Abbey is not historic or classic.This will annoy the NIMBY faction. The "historic" heritage argument to hold back planning
is not supported by Golf Canada. From the Hamilton Spec... They say Glen abbey is not "historic, classic"


Hamilton’s former 2023 slot is likely to be filled by northwest Toronto’s Oakdale Golf & Country Club, whose members are currently being polled on the proposal and are expected to agree.

It’s likely that Oakville’s Glen Abbey, the former semi-permanent of the Open whose owners have applied to redevelop the land, is not currently under consideration for the site rotation as the Open continues to brand itself with more historic, “classic” host courses.
