I completely agree.  I work in the local distribution utility space and I am a huge advocate for updating building codes to require some degree of passive solar generation on every new residential unit.  It's not quite the same as requiring a certain amount of insulation but it's in the same vein.

But, such a requirement doesn't mean this company will thrive.  That's up to management.
