RE:NEW RISK. READ CAREFULLYStarsearcher, I must say that years ago I read articles saying transmission of viruses are most common thru the eyes, the article did suggest that many people automatically cover their mouths and nose with their hands but that in fact is often not as effective as many think, from day one of this that piece of info from years ago has stuck in my head so I found that post quite interesting. Cheers!

variant transmission is now happening through the EYES. This was the first I heard this, so I immediately started looking this up to learn more.
One of the most respected medical journals in the world is the Lancet. This article specifically referenced this very problem. Here are some excerpts:
"Eye-protective face shields have been proposed to prevent community transmission. A large study showed that 19% of health-care workers became infected, despite wearing three-layered surgical masks, gloves, and shoe covers and using alcohol rub. After the introduction of face shields, no worker was infected."
"The eyes are located at a vantage point, simultaneously sensing high bandwidth information but are also exposed to the airborne risk. Ocular surface area, including periocular structures, is large compared with the surface of the mouth and nares and is readily available for droplet deposition. This area has been calculated to be around 10000 mm2, two orders of magnitude greater than for the nares and mouth. The tear film protects the ocular surface but also provides an unrecognised vehicle for viral carriage into the nose. "
I've been saying for weeks now that "we're missing something with regard to variants, i.e., the protocals of 6 ft distance and masks are NOT working. Imho, this provides that missing component, and it is scary as Hell, particularly in ANY indoor/enclosed setting. We may have been "lucky" with standard covid, but with this variants being 2.5t imes more transmissiable and "stikier", it makes sense.
As for any of the recovery stocks, including AC, I now fully put ALL upside bets OFF the table. Here is the link to the full article. CLICK HERE to read.
