I think one method is calculating the intrinsic value of the stock based on net present value of future cash flows. And many of us agree there are different ways to calculate intrinsic value, but i did find one source that i like to use along with his spreadsheet when scoping out stocks.
Sven Carlin, provides a very simple spreadsheet that mathematically makes sense but built for the average layperson. On that web page he provides a great tutorial on how to use the spreadsheet too. Its all free, there are no catches or clickbait garbage - its 100% legit and safe.
