omg....a reporter that actually thinksAlan Freeman is a freelance reporter who actually knows what he is talking about. He presents a well thought out argument rather than simply offering sound bites without a clue which is what most of his colleagues in the "news" provide.
In the following link, Freeman talks about how an Energy East pipeline is unwarranted. His Byline about bitumen from oil sands no longer being marketable is overtly sensational and irrelevant, but it is the only dumb comment in the article. The actual content of the article makes a lot of sense.
Canada now recives 77% of its oil imports from the USA and the percentage growing. While that number may make some people nervous, Canada exports 6.5x more oil to the USA that it imports from the USA.
Is such a heavy reciprical reliance good business? Of course it is. Both Canada and the USA know what they are getting from each other. The countries also share the same type of reliance in the auto industry and the relationship has been beneficial to both countries for decades.
