Patience can be elusive, but unfortunately necessary. Re: Covid, I wouldn't necessarily define it as a severely amplified crisis, however. Although daily new cases have amplified in Canada (not currently the case in the US), death rates have remained relatively flat so far...unlike in the late fall/early winter months where new case & mortality rates similarly increased.
Like in the US, Canada is seeing "fewer" severe infections/hospitalizations/ICU admissions & deaths compared to the last recent wave...all of this indicates a North American population that is at "less" risk for Covid complications. We are probably seeing reinfections & the increase in vaccination rates should lessen risk further. Also, safety/prevention protocols had been refined & are now well established. Due to the overall decrease in both morbidity & mortality, I don't see the increase in daily new cases (primarily impacting Canada) having any "dramatic impact" on the progress of our studies on either side of the border, especially in the US. JMHO. Good luck...
