RE:RE:Thinkbigsti69These big oil companies and their employees have paid billions in taxes for many years. This is where successive governments have got the money to dole out as subsidies for greener projects.I am all for going green but it can't happen overnight. If we shut down Alberta, then we have to import foreign oil at higher costs monetarily and to the environment.or do you want to walk, ride bicycles or go back to horses.Even EV,s leave a footprint. JMO Have a good day. quote=Thinkbigsti69]Simply tired of having my tax dollars got to build pipelines that will become useless soon enough. Also tired of paying mega billions in tax breaks to big oil. + dirtiest oil in the world, getting tar sands refined is extremely polluting and then mixing it with corrosive chemicals so it can be sent through a pipeline is again dangerous for the environment and extremely polluting. Then once burned the said tar sands oil still very polluting. Finally yes keep sendind transfer payments to help us swallow easier the bitter pill of destroying the planet and paying for those pipelines and subsidies to big oil. We pay for you to pollute! I know stupid on both sides.

I'm an Albertan, one of many who have supported many eastern provinces for MANY years with billions upon billions of transfer payments. Now the ungrateful lot want to toss Alberta under the bus in the name of 'green energy'. Well, anybody that has half a brain knows you can't simply flip a switch and it happens. But you seem to think it's that easy, and while it's happening you're happy to continue collecting transfer payments from what is quickly becoming one of Canada's poorest provinces. Shame on you. You are scum of the earth IMO. The oil sands have made tremendous changes over recent years to improve their environmental performance, yet you and many others have 'taken the kool-aid' of the radical movement that blindly calls the oil sands the worst polluter and thinks the world can change to green energy overnight. Very provincial thinking since you don't for a second consider the almost non relevant impact Canada would make overall in the world when the worst polluters (Russia, China, etc, etc, etc,) continue to generate massive GHG's. I choose not to read your drivel anymore and instead choose to drop you solidly into my IGGY box. Not sure why I waited this long!
