Let this cannabis Tsunami carry us on a lucrative trip! Most indicators ( non technical :) point to :
1. Cannabis legalization globally will occur in more countries after covid disappears( hopefully by end of 2021)--- need for more govt. revs, new generations -- new attitudes etc,
2. USA Democrats will legalize many aspects of Cannabis retail ( most citizens approve so more votes in next round of elections + more govt. revs )
3. Cannabjs sector will see more consolidation, more product diversity .
4. More large pharma, alcohol etc .will take large positions in cannabis companies .
5. Role of black market will shrink( no great quality control + more enforcement )
6.Covid effects on cannabis retail sales have been more significant than most envisioned . Sector will likely do much better post covid ( more retail outlets ,tourist .mobility = more sales )
If you accept that these factors /forces are at play, it stands to reason that There will be many $$$$$ made in this industry. So ,who will benefit ,survive and thrive ?.
Granted, there will likely be some upstarts that we have not even heard off ,who will do well but like many industries , some of the current movers and shakers will survive and thrive as well.
In this ,latter group , who might be better positioned to be a successful , thriving, survivor than I a merged Aphria / Tilray .???
For me , the above mentioned confluence of forces, will almost certainly insure ( given good management ) that Aphria will be a big long term winner in our portfolios .
I say , be patient , hold onto your shares !
