None that we know of. Two have been mention. Silicon Mobility out of Europe with some automotive heavy weights involved are working on better controls of the motor and claim a 30% increase in efficiency but its external controls, not internal controls like the coil driver is. Same with Turntide in the US (big investment from Bill Gates and Amazon it think)
Sue has addressed Turntide in an interview, i forget her exact wording so won't attempt to quote her. She wasn't concerned which is all I cared about.
Exro is different as they rewind the motor and are insde the motor, not outside of it.
They can literally reconfigue its torque profile while in use. I once gave the following examply.
an athlete competing in a race up mountains over hills and along long distances has one body type and depending on external inputs can have different levels of energy (inputs would be food types) electric motors are like this, they have one body type and different energy inputs give differing outputs.
Exro is different, its like being able to change the athletes body midrace, for tough rough climbs make them short limbed and strong, and for long distance make them long limbed and graceful. Being able to literally change a body type in mid race allows the racer to have the absolutely ideal body type for every type of terrain encountered in the race. This would be a HUGE advantage in a variable race. Well its exatcly how Exro works, they change the actual torque profile under load, and NOBODY else has this.
Hope this helps explain it a bit. I may be all wet on this description but I don't think so. I have never seen it explained this way its just how I understand it as explained by Exro themselves. I just added the anology.
