RE:Question about 2D SeismicFrom my experience, and full disclosure I'm a drilling engineer so a reservoir engineer or geologist will have more knowledge on the subject, the 2D seismic data can be analyzed almost as soon as RECO recieves it. However, developing subsurface models is an itterative process, and constant recalibration and fine tuning is done as more wells are drilled and more siesmic is conducted. The models can always be wrong, and generally the more data obtained the more accurate the models - think a better and more accurate way of determining the most prolific areas of the basin to drill and develop.
Also, depending on the depositional characteristics of the formations, the seismic requires very experienced professionals to interpret the information CORRECTLY. As Nameofthegame mentioned earlier, carbonate reservoirs (though potentially prolific) can be a headache to accurately map. Safe to say, it will be very difficult for us on the outside to really get a feel if the seismic was truly beneficial (we can only speculate if the well locations move, and the results get better and better).
