RE:RE:RE:Wonder IF...?There are always large companies manipulating stocks, I have yet to see small cap without that, it comes with the territory.
If your time horizon is measured in years, it can be very advantageous if you believe the share price in undervalued, because you can buy in at those lower prices, and add to your "long term undervalued" position.
Both Joel Greenblatt and Peter Lynch in their books "How to be a stock market genius" and "Beat the street"(or was it "one up on wall street"?....), discuss the common opportunity that presents itself in the year following the IPO or many many companies,a category of which BroadBandTV seems to fall right now.
Post IPO, there is often major downward pressure for several reasons... First is that IPO's tend to overvalue shares in a company in the short term. Buyer's expectations are high right away, or else why bother trying to get in before anybody else does? Second is that many insiders, employees, legal teams etc.etc have shares that can now be sold on the open market for a nice payday that they have been waiting for....That isn;t necessarily a strong factor for BroadBandTV, but a factor nonetheless. Third is that if the company doesn't go public with a major bang/announcement that tectonically shifts the valuation in an upward manner, then in reality there is no reason to go up right away..
I am thrilled to have bought in at $9.50 his week, and super excited to buy more, preferably lower going forward. My long term(5-10years) valuation is multiples higher than the current valuation, so this is an easy one, and I strive to only deal with long term holding periods, as I believe this is the most profitable thing that works for me.
I know that I can do nothing at all to prevent shorters/pumpers/manipulators from doing there thing. Profit motive is very strong, and greed has been around humanity since it's existence began, and won't be going away soon. What I can do however, is find ways to profit off of the apparent manipulation(I prefer to think of it as undervaluation) in the long term.
If your investment time period is short, like, less than a year or two, then everything I have just said would probably make you feel sick inside, and shouldn't be taken seriously. I see MINIMALLY 300% share price increase over 3 years, and that my bare lowest projection, so I will continue to add in the near term as long as we are under $10, and as long as none of my few other holdings present a better sale price on their shares for me to capitalize on.
Cheers to all, HOLD tight, and enjoy the successes that are coming!
