RE:Sent a letter to John Rustad Here is a summary of our discussion:
- NDP will never approve without LBN approval.
- If there is a leadership change, and its conducive to working with LBN, then there may be a few options;
- possibly redesign the tailing with full sign off from LBN,
- consideration of a dry stack option of tailings, if feasible.
- third, most complicated, would involve LBN as partner, or owner, and make deal with PBM as operating partner.
None of these options can happen without the right people involved from all groups, and PBMs original approach may have made internal LBN political dealing to difficult to overcome.
The major fear is the long term impact on the Morrison, as the science is not clear on the long term impact. The past mining legacies have heightened this awareness.
There may be other solutions, but they have not been brought forward.
This is a summary, if you would like to discuss further, Please reach out to John Rustad, or John Plourde.
