RE:Re: This Says It AllYour comparing two distinctly different types of tests.
Accuvid is a screening test. Those other tests are Diagnostic tests that can also be used as screening tests.
When quoting accuracy ACCuvid is only a high viral load test. Those other tests are low viral load tests with a low Limit of Detection..
Comparing them is like a watermelon to a grape
Therma's CoviSafe prototype test showed an 86-per-cent sensitivity for samples with an RT-PCR Ct (cycle threshold) value below 30 and 100-per-cent sensitivity with Ct values of 25 or lower. The Ct value indicates the number of times or cycles that a DNA/RNA sample needs to be amplified for it to be detected by an RT-PCR test -- the gold standard test for detecting COVID-19. The lower the Ct value, the higher the amount of viral RNA present in a sample, and the higher the Ct value, the lower the amount of viral RNA present in the sample. I can't imagine how much money has been wasted sending tests that couldn't meet the need or expectations.
For those who don't now think that AcuVid will not be a game changer ....accurate, easy to use, rapid, inexpensive to administer, forecasted to be inexpensive to purchase ....how many boxes need to be checked off???
