RE:RE:RE:I think I’ve seen this play before My guess is that the Quebec province or the Federal government will "NEVER" allow SNC be sold off to another company.
Too much history here of over 100 years with SNC and more importantly this is one of the last "crown jewels" in "la belle province". No way any politician in that province would ever let SNC be let go to either another Canadian engineering firm or worse to another foreigner outside Canada. That would prove insanity and the powers to be would step in and override the decision of whomever was in power at the time and approved it. Forget that option everyone. SNC will NOT be bought out (friendly or hostile takeover makes no difference).
SNC is too much Canadian in a world where countries are trying to hoard and protect their own precious and distinctive Crown Jewels. SNC is a crown jewel for anyone thinking further down the line than today ( ie 1, 2,3,5 10 years). The company along with the provincial and federal governments all seem to think so.
Bombardier was another Quebec crown jewel but unfortunately the owners took too much of a "self indulgent" compensation package at the expense of all those innocent workers who lost jobs there. I know quite a few innocent workers with kids who lost their jobs there after 20 plus years of service at Bombardier who were let go. Yet the Bombardier family kept their "fat compensation packages" intact at the expense of struggling and hard working and devoted lifetime workers there. The federal government approved the lifeblood of bombardier and then realized the family had compensation packages that ensured they were well fed at the expense of the long time service awards that the hard working employees devoted to as a form of lifetime employee service?
I don't have sympathy for the rich and greedy profiting from the innocent and the lifeblood of organizations today. We have been transitioned to think too much in this day and age that CEO's are the life blood of organizations and that their best interests are for the organizations best interests and that they were hired for those best interests in the first place. I am seeing more and more evidance that this may not be entirely for the benefit of shareholders at all organizations.
SNC continues to win good contracts in the new and transformed world of a pure play engineering company. That is what we want to continue to see, Their Atkins name is a true world renowned entity for vision, deliverance, perseverance, professionalism, and ethics. They will be one of the top 10 if not top 5 engineering firms in the world if you give them enough time to work their magic.
As I mentioned before we seem to be forming a base in the $27 range here. I think we will continue to test the $25 to $27 range (short term even though I mentioned $27 would probably be forming the new base / support line). I doubt we get any more breakout until we get closer to or after the May 14 shareholder meeting conference call.
I sincerely hope "everyone" is doing their own due diligence and voting where their own opinions matter most instead of posting on these messsge boards which mean nothing in the greater investing world.
Please be sure to vote whatever your opinions matter on how well our company is being managed and run.
If you stay quiet and silent on the matter then you have no right to complain on the progression of the company or more importantly the quarterly results of operations that are taking place.
Your company, your vote, your destiny, your wealth!
You decide your destiny or have it decided for you!!!!!
