It has developed a relationship with Daimler, BMW, and, Amperex. Amperex is the world's largest producer of Li-ion batteries.
Of course, it is well known that any number of labs are producing silicon nano particles that would revolutionize the battery industry. The problem has always been scaling it. HPQ seems to have found a way. Let's hope it has gotten there first, and, as Bernard T has said, is "years ahead" of its competition in that regard.
