I am confused with today's NR, or it is just me.
Is NLC going to try their new concept? If that is the case, are we going to wait the trial results? It is not a clear NR. I see our SP is down, and the market intepret that way as well?

tiger,
it may seem a bit confusing at first, but this step has several advantages:
Positives: -Get experience in pond building and operation, focused training possibilities.
They already know what design they will use (ongoing DFS-work).
Now they are going to do a “field-lab” in order to figure out how to do it economically.
e.g: (guessing though) Why use a contractor if your own people can do the earth moving, lining and other relevant activities?
Note: pond construction may be a continuous operation for a while after DFS capacity has been reached. Remember: The world really needs more capacity.
Once completed, they’ll have personnel get hands-on experience, so that once operations start, employees know their tasks through instructions and previous experience.
There will be smaller chances for errors during ramp-up to industrial scale.
-We need less (200+60) evaporation days than the generally believed 365 days.
-Pilot plant may run continuous with this extra enriched brine capacity.
-More equipment and personnel for 24/7 operations for measuring results on an almost continuous basis, to learn how to fine-tune the production ponds and the carbonate production process.
Negatives: -First time reported? “Operations in these pilot ponds were discontinued in 2018”
-Scale has changed from 1:500 to 1:600 scale
Today’s market reaction has very little to do with this NR.
For me the NR means that a knot has been unraveled. They’ve taken a decision concerning the pond design and immediately react by taking further steps.
All’s good, the publication of the DFS will not be delayed.
I hope this helps.
Have fun.
