RE:Chen must be doing a great job, eh?Sarcasm aside, you are right that serious illogical comment seems to follow Blackberry regardless of its current share price, marketing successes, global industry challenges etc., etc. and .. yep.. some believe it is "All John Chen's Fault"
I have little doubt that he and his team question some results that are surely disappointing and are elated with others.
To me things to ponder include:
- How did the company (RIM) fall so far and fast before he got here?
- Has he/ the current management group created "New Value" or "New Potential" or "New Markets" or a "Current Technology Company with a vision?
- Does anyone genuinely believe the company stands a strong possibility of total failure tomorrow, next month, next year?
In my view, anyone who does see things that negatively doesn't understand how far Blackberry has come since Chen arrived or how far it had to come to still be here today.
Without question, "Profit has to be generated".
Does the business model and structure need more extraordinary change or are tweaks/fine tuning where its at?
I'll go for the fine tuning because I believe their future is here.
