I completely agree. Hydrogen might be a feasible alternative to renewable fuels in 15-20 years, but I can't see it any earlier than that. Look no further than the best case timeline for hydrogen hybrid planes from Airbus (2035): https://www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-releases/en/2020/09/airbus-reveals-new-zeroemission-concept-aircraft.html Boeing being much less optimistic about Hydrogen: https://www.flightglobal.com/airframers/hydrogen-powered-airliners-unlikely-in-near-term-boeing-exec/140273.article It's also possible that fully electric planes will be the long term solution if battery tech continues to advance quickly. Hydrogen has many drawbacks to it... For one it's a gas at normal temp and therefore must be stored at high pressure. Makes storing and distribution very costly. IMO renewable fuels will be the winner for the next couple of decades.
