RE:RE:Cabbage

RE:RE:Cabbageapparently armetico (last operator) did run a heap leach...  the dok is 160 pages long..

2.1.1
Site Name, Location, and Brief Description
The Anaconda Copper Mine Site (Site) (EPA #NV083917252) covers more than 3,400 acres in
the Mason Valley, near the city of Yerington, in Lyon County, central Nevada, approximately
65 miles southeast of Reno. The Singatse Range and the town of Weed Heights lie to the west,
open agricultural fields and homes to the north, BLM managed public land to the south, and the
Walker River and the city of Yerington to the east. Currently, EPA and BLM are the lead
agencies and the NDEP is the support agency; however, for Arimetco HLPs and evaporation
ponds (OU-8) remedial plan implementation where the state will be the lead, and federal
agencies in support roles. Most of the OUs (OU’s 1-7) are PRP-lead, with the remaining OU-8
being fund-lead.

in this bilg of text..  the transfer allows the state to take control of the site by further remediations of the site..

there are areas that are implied to be re-mined..  if i interpert this - somewhat !  when the RIC is signed - probably in june ?  then NDEP will have full "Interm Status" of the forward permitting of the mine site,,  the 3500 acres is essentially a giant pile of the ore mined from the lake..  the pit or yearington lake is 850 feet deep..  there are contigincey plans for water reclamation - etc..  there is a land swap w blm to expand the mine - make it viable for a brownfield w new development..

McEwin Mining in Eureka is operating on this model - old tailinggs w a new OP...

the dok is basically a laundry wish list for the next operator..  Poly Met up in Minesotta has  done this and is now producing again..  poly met - did make the we are king charge w the tribes upm there and wound up in court for ten years - not all tribal issues hav been resolved even today..

PM started the mitigation at the old General Motors Mine in 2007 and locked the tribes out in the process...  about the same time the tribes started pushing bak..
