Newmont Gets It

Newmont Gets ItNewmont should have consulted the natives before buying from GT. The fact DBG carried on after knowing the natives didn't support development in the area is complete negligence on DBG part. What is more unbelievable is the ignorance of the float & investors who knew the history. The natives are not looking for deal with DBG. If you have money in this you should understand this completely: "NO 'CULTURAL SACRIFICES"

"Last month the nation vowed "all actions necessary" to stop exploration by junior miner Doubleview Gold Corp on ancestral lands."  Vow : solemnly promise to do a specified thing.

These words the natives are using "in plain english" should tell any investor/speculator these are not negotiating words they're devoted words concerning their territory. Newmont gets it. Staying invested in DBG now is comparable to a cash death wish.

"Clearly, if the community does not want the resource development, we're not going to be there," Newmont spokesman Nick Cotts said, adding the U.S. miner is committed to working with the Tahltan to address concerns.
