Typically, if a stock falls 23.6% or 38.2% from its recent high, technical traders will view this as a buy signal. At 50%, those same traders will go into wait-and-see mode. If the 50% retracement holds, and the stock’s price rebounds, this is a buy signal. If not, then look out below!

Let’s see an example from some random stock:

last 2 legs up 0.382 retrace and a 0.5 retrace. This leg 0.382 falls right at last leg top 8.10ish good resistance being an old high , 0.5 falls on 7.75 ish good resitance and was a top before last how things line up , 0.236 around around 8.50 if copper takes out all time highs we could hold that if not well
