RE:RE:Competition from Watson near Prince Rupert

RE:RE:Competition from Watson near Prince RupertRocko58: What are your thoughts?  How  familiar are you with CNR and  the track system around Prince Rupert?  Beautiful  area.

I  have been noticing  a lessening of the RIPET throughput over the last  few months , the opposite one would expect with increased demand and prices  in the FAR EAST.  This is just the opposite for Ferndale.

There has been many VLGC delays in mooring for no apparent reason. I have argued the delay is delay to 3Rd party rail deliveries caused by track allocations. Think about it. Altagas/Prince Rupert/VLGC ship owners agree to a  date to be moored.  To see a vessel arrive on time only to be anchored for a  few days  indicates RIPET is not ready to load.  ALtagas  / and Prince Rupert are professionals….they know what they are doing  so  the delay must be outside of their control.

Adding Pembina Watson Island only exasperates the congestion on the tracks.  CNR  is currently more interested in expanding north /south into the US ,  than expanding Prince Rupert.   I  think there is little chance of CNR resolving congestion without help from the FEDs.

I see more exports  diverted to Ferndale.
I  see  VOPAK  expansion plans yielding  to the issue of rail traffic congestion  and noise.
I see the government inept  to solve the rail congestion hurting exports.

I  hate to bring this up…. But there are reasons societies build pipelines  to a loading terminal.
