RE:Chinook - A Week in Review

Lurk & Learns:

CAUTION: This is my own rant on what I see as an innocent decision with potential impact on/for the obviation of ten (10) years of PR "imbedded" in a document that is "precursor" to a decade of promise". i.e Something may have gotten lost in the translation. And again, I could be 100% wrong.

Sometimes, I appear to be talking to myself, mostly because of the "lecture" style that I have adopted for the benefit of Lurk & Learns. Case in point, this week was the "Eric Nuttall" story. In this morning's blog roundup, some posters (as the saying goes) "hates his guts" for whatever reason(s). BNN has been my go to TV station for many years. Also, the Globe & Mail, Investor's Digest and the Northern Miner. 

As a Trini, we want Touchstone to succeed with the selfish (pretexts) self serving posts that highlight the good bad and indifferent aspects of T & T aligned or mis-aligned with an ex-pat wanting to do the right thing to ensure success in bringing an "overlooked" opportunity to an underserved market going foward.

Point being, while Eric Nuttall's impact or not on Touchstone is a matter of personal conviction in the absence of brokerages doing a financing (possibly resulting in a EN's characterization of a Calgary Stampeed in London); today's rant has to do with an item that appears to be "culturally insensitive" or for want of a better descriptor, "anti-synergestic". And IMHO is worth repeating (in Trini code of course) for XM and other nationals to confirm to management that (IMHO misinformed) choice. To be specific:

Page 6 of the recent Coprorate Presentation (the "ill advised" name above) "Herrera Prospect", to reconciliation target on; 

Page 10 Vision and Values Bullet Point #2, and focus on the two pictures used for the backdrop. and also consider the protests as reported in the February CNC3 Headlines. e.g.

Point being a second look by the naming "well nomenclature" commission (aka sub-committee) c\would be warranted. In context, recently the benign nomencalture of Zaboca (Trini for avacado) or Shadon Beni (Cilantro) appeared in some of the Talisman paleo-postings. Point being, the POSSIBLE Trini ramification(s) for my rant are potentially wide ranging in long term.... up to and including "progressive rehabilitation". 

BWDIK? What's in a name or more specifically a euphaism(sp?) ? At least Chinook at first blush resulted in a "33%" pull back, and IMHO WILL recover based on the court of sober second thought and petroleum geology & science.

As a firm believer in TXP, I am advocating for a review of the naming decision cited above. Reason being, once negative "traction" is initiated no amount of PR to the  compentency level of Slumberger or Hughes will substitute for, "trust but verify" and See Understand Plan & Act (SUPA), just by getting acqainted\checking in the "Trini Dictionary".
