$POND - One to watch, a step into the green future
$POND is a new one I’ve been watching recently. Their method of utilizing algae in bioreactors to reduce emissions from smokestacks is an interesting concept. If one of the systems is connected with a smokestack it consumes CO2 emissions while producing O2 instead of a lot of other systems which just capture CO2/harmful pollutants for later use. Additionally, the algae grown in the bioreactors aren’t just left there but can be harvested and used in products such as bioplastics, proteins, and antioxidants. $POND is currently selling micro-algae-derived antioxidant Astaxanthin under its Regenurex brand and they’re beginning to license its tech to third parties for fees and royalties. Found this video by the Financial Post that explains a bit more about what they do: https://youtu.be/XKwGqt3n3\_0
Recently, $POND announced that they’ll be entering into Elon Musk’s XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition which has a prize pot of $100M. (They were a semi-finalist in 2017’s XPRIZE). https://finance.yahoo.com/.../former-carbon-xprise-semi...
With Biden in office and continued climate concerns, trillions of $ will be poured into global green initiatives over the next few years, efficient CO2 capture is only going to become more important as time passes. As $POND scales their algae system and implements it in many more manufacturing/CO2 emitting plants, I can only expect big things to come in the future. The stock is fairly flat today at $0.67 ($27M market cap) and recently broke support levels. I’ll be watching the stock closely to find an entry point here.
