This is the link to the video where Paulo mentions the content of Ti -check around 9:18 into it [it is about 1 year old]

From that interview - Keep in mind that this isfrom March 2020 before COVID...

...We have one project which is great, which is Titanium.  We have 13% of TiO2 in our tailings, which means we are going to reduce the environmental impact.  We are going to take this material from the tailings, from the damns and are going to recover the Ilmenite and produce Ti pigment.  Doing that we are going to have not a by-product, we'll a co-product which is going to have basically the same importance as Vanadium for our company.  Two revenue streams will help us to stand up much easier.

How far off production and revenue are you on that secondary [stream]?

I cannot disclose this detai lat this moment. I could say that it will be as good, as important as Vanadium.  Titanium will help to have all economics and results more stable.  It's a huge market.  To give you anidea,  We will not be able to fulfill the Brazilian import needs....

St_estefan,

Your link doesn’t work. Anyway, with Paulo’s communication skills (rather the lack of it) it is easy to misunderstand what he really means to say. By the way he did say: "We have 13% of TiO2 in our tailings" and not in the iron ore stockpile, did he not?

Where does Largo get its Vanadium from? From processing the vast deposit of Vanadium-rich titaniferous magnetite iron ore (or Titanomagnetite ore). As per Vanitec “Titaniferous magnetite is the most important source for vanadium presently accounting for about 85% of the current world V2O5 production.  This iron ore typically contains 1.0% to 1.5% V2O5”. According to Wiki “the typical Titanomagnetite concentrate grades 57% Fe, 12% Ti and 0.5% V2O5”. Obviously Maracas Titanomagnetite deposits are of much better grades with perhaps 57-59% Fe, 13% Ti and 1.5-2% V2O5. So when Paulo says that "we have 13% TiO2 in our tailings" he must surely be refering to the content of the Titanomagnetite deposits of Maracas and not the residue of the iron ore stockpile (57-59% Fe) captured in the Leached Calcine tailings and destined to be sold. We can’t extract any Ti from the 57-59% Fe.

So if we assume that the grade of Maracas Titanomagnetite ore = 59% Fe, 13% Ti and 2% V2O5 then

59% Fe = Iron ore tailings

13% Ti = Ilmenite/Ti tailings

2% V2O5 = Vanadium recovery
