RE:RE:RE:Rig countA short story from my past, I was the Canadian member of a small group of traders with 1 man offices around the world. The plan was that each trader would get to know his market very well then we would send out telexes at the end of the day so that we could piece out the full picture.
It didn't take too long to realize that all we were doing was to spread the BS that was emanating from each market. So we hired a shipbroker to clue us in. Turned out that each vessel had so many options that info was useless also. Next we tried the inspectors. waste of time. Needless to say government sources and the media were way too slow. Finally ,it hit us , the ship chandlers always new what was coming into port and what was leaving. The only trouble was, it was no use plying them with food or drink as they had plenty which was of course tax free. So we tried golf games but none of them had the time. So I made a few good deals but moved on as things were much too slow for my liking.
Imagine my surprise a year ago, when I discovered that the company I once worked for landed the lowest WTI price ever !! I had trained the bosses nephews who now run the company. I am still waiting for the 2 spoiled little buggers to reply to my congratulatory Email. perhaps they are waiting for a Telegram from me !!
