Who gets The short end of the stick?

Some 20 years ago I was holding Canabrva Diamonds CNB. Woke up one morning to find it was now SUP. I did not see a big change in the value of my holdings but CNB was slowly on the way to tank. It's so long ago I cant remember the numbers but I had no complaints. Has anyone else gone through this routine and who got the short end of the stick.
