Dale mentioned that because they are now drilling up to 5500 m (18,000 feet) lateral wells that they can capture their reserves with fewer wells, which equals less capital. That is really important. An example is that offsetting Crew's lands, CNRL is busy drilling 3500 m wells. Crew was doing the same thing until they switched to the long reach approach. With fewer wells they don't have to spend money on additional surface leases, building access roads, building additional pipelines, drilling and completions. The cost saving are enormous.
The second thing was when Dale revealed that they are drilling Montney A in addition to Montney B zones. That is a game changer from a reserve report and production basis. Crew can essentially start drilling in the middle of their infrastructure that was put in place for the B zone and start drilling wells for the shallower A zone.
That explains why I was seeing all of those horizontals with the same bottom hole locations. Crew is drilling towards the same bottom hole location but they are drilling one well in the A and the other in the B zone.
This is really exciting!
Perhaps even more exciting than the lovely Victoria, TGC.
