RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Xavier on Facebook
You do realise that gas and oil is actually there at Chinook ?? It has not "disappeared". Firstly, gas will always flow before oil, it requires less permeabilty for gas to flow rather than oil.
The company have informed you that its hydrocarbon bearing. Xavier has done his job. Now the question is.......is the formation a problem and the formation is not commercial due to poor permeabiluty ? or has the wellbore been messed up by drilling fluid or by completion cement..........those are of course nothing to do with Xavier. His job is to find hydrocarbon bearing formations..........and he has.
They are putting the well on to pump for 60 days and will see if they can get oil out of it and overcome either the problems caused by the formation itself, or by the drilling fluid, or by the cementing...........and then oil may flow, or it may not.
The issues of drilling fluid and casing cement and wellbore damage are for people like Baker Hughs and Schlumberger to advise TXP.......not Xavier, this is not his field of expertise.
So always remember, while the market is currently pricing Chinook COMPLETE STRUCTURE as a total write off...........it certainly is not, and indeed, even Chinook-1 might flow oil in the comnig 2 or 3 months.......although most likely not, it might............ but certainly when they drill Chinook-2 and Chinook-3.........there should be loads of oil for us all.
